Your South West Essex Chair, Ryan Bush, invites you to two engaging CPD presentations inside one of the region’s most fascinating Cold War landmarks.
Hidden 38 metres underground, beneath an unassuming bungalow in Brentwood, the Kelvedon Hatch is the region's biggest and deepest Cold War bunker open to the public.
Originally built as an RAF radar station in the early 1950s, the site later became a potential regional government headquarters. Designed to accommodate up to 600 military and civilian personnel - including the Prime Minister if required - the bunker offers a rare glimpse into the plans and precautions of the Cold War era.
